When it comes to looking around for Las Vegas shows in November, this year you will not be disappointed. There is something for everybody and different shows available all over the city. The question is what do you want to do?

Between the 11^th and 13^th of November, at the Hollywood Theater, Drew Carey is performing his improvisation works. It is a Improv-a-Ganze featuing an all start cast. The start of his performance will be his normal standup comedy, but there will be many guests that join him throughout the night and all of it will be improv. You will be guaranteed a night where you will not stop laughing. It is worth noting that some of this performance will include adult humor.

If you are interested in boxing then the World Boxing Organization is holding a fight for one night only. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao will be facing his nemesis, Juan Manuel Marquez. The first bout of the match will start at 3:15pm and you will see a lot more than watching it on TV – which will not start until 6pm. This is the fight of a lifetime and not something that you want to miss as a boxing fan.

At the end of November, the Grand Garden Arena will be full of stars as the K-Pop comes to the stage. This is the first time in history and you can be there on the 25^th or 26^th of November 2011. There is a full lineup of stars, celebrity guests, and some performances that you will not be expecting. The audio will not disappoint either with the use of state of the art technology. The doors open at 7pm sharp.

The red headed comedian is alive and well and will be appearing in 2012 at the Luxor Hotel and Casino. His outrageous personality is only out shown by the shock of red hair as he cavorts around the stage with his comedy bag of tricks. Carrot Top is a fresh shot of funny in a sometimes mundane world as he pokes fun at whatever is on his mind.

There are Las Vegas shows in December that are definitely something not to miss. Whether you want to see a musical performance or a sporting event, there is bound to be something for you. Here are just a few options that are available.

The first is at the start of December and located at the Grand Garden Arena. This is the American Country Awards and is a two hour event hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristian Chenowith. The event is the only music awards for country music and will give fans the chance to vote for their favorites in some traditional and new categories, including touring. There are performances throughout the night as well as appearances from some of the most notable artists throughout the year.

For those who prefer sports, the 9-ball pool tournament is coming back to Las Vegas. On the 8^th December 2011, at the MGM Grand, the tournament is back and ready to offer everything that pool fans have been waiting for. It is a battle of Europe vs. America as the four day event plays out.

For music fans – especially R ‘n’ B fans, Jay-Z and Kanye West are taking to the stage. Their new album “Watch The Throne” is being released and performed at the Grand Garden Arean with work recorded from all over the world, including in the UK, Paris and New York. The music is by both artists, who complement each other the whole way through. This is the first time that the two will ever do a whole show together – before this, they have just appeared as guests with each other.

And for fans of the classical sound, Andrea Bocelli is returning to the Grand Garden Arena on the 10^th of December. This man has a place in the Guinness World Records by holding first, second, and third spots in the music chart for American classical music – and when you hear him, you will understand why.

Magic fans will not be disappointed as David Copperfield returns to the stage. His Dreams and Nightmares tour is something that is full of great illusions that everyone will enjoy. He has two shows in the evenings and one on a Saturday afternoon.

If these are not something that tickle your fancy, then why not consider some of the events that are going to be around for a few months. One of the permanent attractions is the Crime Scene Investigation Experience. This is based on the TV show, CSI, which is set in Las Vegas and will take you through a murder, or two, or three to solve. It is up to you to get the pieces that solve the puzzle and find out who the murderer was in each of the crime scenes. This is a fun experience for adults and children.

Peepshow – Putting the “sin” back into Sin City, Holly Madison’s Peepshow is a variety show that leaves little to the imagination. Penn Gillette and Raymond Teller have been performing magic and comedy together since 1975. Penn and Teller have been defined as part screwball and part psychotic entertainer, as their magic tricks seem to embrace the gross and the gory with a touch of humor thrown in for good measure. Penn is the taller talkative one while Teller prefers the role of mime and silent partner, which works well for them as Penn generally talks enough for the two of them.

Penn and Teller have performed on Broadway, and made numerous performances on television, often in the role of a guest star. During the 1990’s, the duo performed on national tours to critical acclaim, and under took a ShowTime program that takes a look at the war on drugs, weight loss, PETA, gun control, astrology, and Feng Shui. Penn and Teller are self subscribed teetotalers. They avoid all alcohol and drug use, even for medicinal purposes.

Penn and Teller are performing at the Rio in Las Vegas and have been for more than ten years. They combine magic with comedy and mystify the audience with an explanation of how the magic tricks are done. Their biggest illusion is convincing the audience they are debunking the myths and mystery of the world of magic, but they end up creating more mystery than ever. Penn and Teller have a unique approach to magic and illusion and do not perform magic according to the standard book of magic. Penn and Teller are not into production or nearly naked women assistants that only serve to distract the audience. The only music accompaniment they occasionally use is Penn and his standup bass and the pianist who performs while audience members are making their way into the venue before the start of the show.

The Penn and Teller show isn’t just about magic and illusion. It is also about commentary. While Teller remains silent throughout the show, Penn often delivers his straight from the shoulders commentary on the world at large. His dry wit and boisterous comedic style only add to the entertainment value of the entire Penn and Teller experience. Often, Penn brings his commentary into a trick or illusion or two and even though the commentary may have nothing to do with his trick at the moment, it somehow all makes sense.

Penn and Teller engage the audience in participation for several of their tricks, which makes it fun for the crowd. There is something mystical about being in the middle of a magic trick or illusion and not seeing how the magic works, but feeling the magic work around you. Perhaps that is the illusion.

Teller and his no spoken antics is the perfect counter balance to Penn’s ranting and ravings amidst the magic. Every word Penn utters, Teller can express with just a facial expression or two. Teller is at his best performing the bouncing ball trick while Penn is conveniently off stage. Teller, with all his unspoken power, gets a red ball to follow him around and even jump through a hoop or two without the ball looking like it is under his control. It is a fun trick to watch, even though just about everyone in the audience knows how the trick is executed because Penn told them it was a trick using string.

Penn and Teller are not your everyday magicians. They have been called kooks, psychopaths and nerd bombers, to name but a few of the adjectives attributed to them. What they are is entertaining, beguiling and illusionistic and are always ready to entertain the world and everyone in it.

Cirque du Soleil was founded in 1984 by two former street performers. Cirque du Soleil shows are part carnival, part art and part street performance. Cirque du Soleil Zumanity is performed at the New York New York Hotel and Casino Zumanity Theater. Zumanity is seductive and provocative and illustrates the sensual side of Cirque. Zumanity takes on the role of reality with a playful, seductive twist. The show was created for those over the age of 18 as it takes on an element of burlesque and cabaret along with the trademark acrobatic routines that have become a Cirque du Soleil trademark. Zumanity is fun along with sensual and the characters cavort about the stage as if they haven’t a care in the world.

Cirque du Soleil Zumanity has no story line, but instead has unique characters whose performances are based on different elements of sexuality. Before the show begins, the characters cavort through the audience for some playful interaction. Twin sisters, dressed as French maids squeeze their way through the aisles and find themselves in awkward positions while handing out fresh strawberries. Antonio, dressed in a gold suit flirts with audience members and is both charming and irresistible. As Antonio and the twins make their way to the stage, other characters from the show do the same and soon the real show is about to begin.

Edie the drag queen announces she is the mistress of sensuality and will be your guide through the journey into sensuality, passion and lust. The show begins with a dancer in a beaded loin cloth performing a tribal dance of uninhabited passion. As other performers take to the stage, the tone changes from subtle flirtation to hedonistic pleasure. The transactions of acts simulate emotions that arise in romantic relationships.

The performers are each unique in their personalities and appearance and demonstrate beauty comes in all sizes and shapes. The show reverts from good girl to better girl as the performers engage in a series of sensual poses and movement that demonstrates the capabilities of the human body. Comic relief throughout the show is brought to the stage by Mr. Dick and Mrs. Ginger.

Zumanity also looks at the dark and taboo side of sex. Self inflicted pleasure and pain is demonstrated by a lovely young woman as she wraps herself with straps hanging from the ceiling and transitions into different poses. An aerialist duo take to the stage and then to the air as they perform an in-flight dance of romantic overtures. Their graceful choreography is breath taking as they perform in mid air and then return to the stage.

Zumanity is uninhibited and a refreshing break from the traditional Las Vegas shows. Zumanity crosses the boundaries for a fun look at intimacy and sexual behavior. Zumanity reminds everyone the life is about challenge and conquests and having fun in all aspects of life.

There is some nudity and some costuming that suggests nudity. The show is 90 minutes in length and performed twice an evening.

Cirque du Soleil is a circus encompassing elements from around the world. Mystere features performers who are conditioned like Olympic gymnasts whose strength make their entertainment accomplishments look effortless as they use their body strength to balance against each other or arm and leg power to move up and down a pole. The performers cavort around the stage and through the audience with such grace and precision it is hard to believe they are not the creature they portray. Cirque du Soleil Mystere features stunts such as the aerial cube, which is a large metal cube that is juggled as the juggler soars through the air and performs a ballet.

The performers match their skill and flexibility with their comedic actions for many light hearted twists and turns during the show, as the master of ceremonies tries his very best to bring order to the entertainment that has turned into chaos. Of course, the popcorn tossing clown sabotages the master of ceremony at every point preventing the madness from becoming an orderly mix of talent and breathe taking events performed on the stage and in the aisle. That is part of the formula of what makes Mystere so special and entertaining.

The sound track that accompanies the performance is a mix of rock and roll, African and Celtic influences with a dash or two of funk thrown in for good measure and performed by live musicians and singers. The haunting music captures the spirit of the show and adds much to the playful mystery unfolding right in front of the audiences eyes.

Mystere is a compilation of high-energy acrobatics, inspired imagery and aerial artists on the high bar, coupled with the whimsy of the electrifying, big red bird and giant baby with a red bouncing ball, brings the audience the full spectrum of athleticism and physical power that has become the trademark of Cirque du Soleil shows. The Chinese pole climbers are breath taking as they hand over hand their way up and down a pole that seems to hold steady in mid air and the death defying aerialists that makes shooting through the air look effortless and a typical day at the office.

Nearly every major casino in Vegas has an entertainment hall, but even the smaller ones downtown are constantly featuring live music from smaller bands as well as local favorites. Don’t think that all the action takes place on the strip. You never know who is going to turn up in the smallest hole in the wall bars of Old Town Vegas far away from the main neon lights.
