The black cowboy wearing hat Garth Brooks is an American Country artist from Yukon, Oklahoma, deep in the heart of oil country. The Brooks family featured weekly talent nights where Garth and his siblings were required to perform, either sing or participate in a skit. In high school, his focus was sports. He played baseball and football and ran track. He received a track scholarship to Oklahoma State University and competed in the javelin. He graduated in 1984 with a degree in advertising. Gath learned to play guitar and banjo as a kid as a result of family talent nights and began his professional music career singing and playing guitar in Oklahoma clubs. Even though Garth had been exposed to a variety of music, his favorite music was rock, but after hearing a song by George Strait, Garth decided country music was for him. In 1985, Brooks had the opportunity to record a demo record and was soon on his way to Nashville to pursue country music.
Fast forward to 2009, Garth Brooks who retired from recording and performing in 2000, announced the end of his retirement with a concert deal with Encore Theater at the Wynn hotel on the Las Vegas strip to perform on the weekend. He performed one show on Friday and Sunday and two shows on Saturday. His schedule allowed him to have time with his family, which is the reason he retired in the first place. The financial terms of his contract were not made public, but the management at Encore gave Brooks access to a private jet to transport him between his home in Oklahoma and Las Vegas.

For the faint of heart, fans might be warned that Garth Brooks uses profane language. It may sound crusty and hard core, but for Garth the language adds a bit of charm.
