Once the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas reported that it was investing over forty million dollars to development an unique venue solely for the popular show “Phantom of the Opera” and rebranding the performance “Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular,” people recognized that this edition of the famous Broadway play was going to be something extra special. Although the Phantom of the Opera Las Vegas show has been improved, enthusiasts of the initial production aren’t going to be dissatisfied. Executives and artists from the performance’s first innovative crew assisted in creating “Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular” and reduced the event’s running time from the initial 2.5 hours down to just over 1.5 hours. The focal point of the venue is the impressive hanging chandelier. The design and scale of the masterpiece are something to discuss long after the show is finished. In Phantom Las Vegas, the chandelier is composed of 4 separate parts, which come together in a stunning manner during the first act of the production. The beams of the theater’s dome feature numerous computer controlled cords that mechanically direct the assembly of the chandelier into place. During the show’s most climactic scene, the chandelier falls 45 feet straight down in three seconds and stops only 10 feet above those seated right beneath it – an effect that always causes a pleasant stir in the audience.
“Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular” employs an exceptionally skilled group of performers. The story, an account of unanswered love, is centered on Gaston Leroux’s renowned book concerning a phantom inhabiting the Paris Opera House. Christine Daaé, a driven opera vocalist is being taught by a mystical gentleman who she thinks has been magically delivered to her by the soul of her deceased father. In actuality, her teacher is the Phantom of the Opera, a single, mutilated person who conceals his disfigurement utilizing a white face mask and dwells in an mysterious hideout underneath the opera property. During the tale, not only does he fall madly in love with Christine’s enchanting tone of voice, but he tragically becomes addicted to her as well. The story turns for the worse for everyone when Christine gets engaged to her love of her life, Raoul.
